Shakya House lies just around the Patan Durbar Square (listed by the UNESCO as the world heritage site). Though being located in an urban area, we are surrounded by a peaceful and open environment, letting our guests enjoy and relax in a quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Comfort & Accommodations
Opened in the beginning of 2014, Shakya House provides short-term as well as long-term accommodations. We have a total of 20 Rooms and a Studio Apartment, including Single, Double, Twin Sharing, and Triple Sharing rooms. All rooms are bathroom ensuite, and free Continental Breakfast is provided.
The House also features a spectacular view of the mountain range (Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lhakpa) from its terrace.
Heritage & Convenience
Patan is one of the oldest cities of Nepal. Beside the Durbar Square, famous cultural sites such as the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar), Kumbeshwor Banglamukhi Temple, and Mahaboudha Temple are positioned nearby. The setting of Shakya House offers an easy tour to these attractions within a 10-15 minute walk.
Offices like UN House, WFP, and JICA can be reached within walking distance, making it convenient for volunteers. Just a few minutes away, you can find major supermarkets like Bhatbhateni and access local transportation.
